Fighting Wrinkles
How you fight wrinkles is affected by how old you are.
Methods used by women in their twenties will not be the same as those applied
by women in their forties.
In your 20s
At this age the skin will repair itself, so little protection is required.
The only worry is from wrinkes appearing as a result of excessive sun-exposure.
To prevent this happening use a high factor sunblock in the summer
months to prevent any sun-related damage to the skin.
In your 30s
This time is when wrinkles begin to appear. Skin care is difficult and a common method
is to reduce their appearance using moisturising creams, particulalry when the skin is feeling dry.
This will help your skin keep a smooth youthfull appearance.
In your 40s
Once you leave your thirties you may need to use other measures to keep wrinkles under
control. As well as continuing to use moisturisers, it may also be useful to apply
foundation, such as Maybelline smooth results.
Chemical peels, which cause the skin to exfoliate, can also be applied or a more risky
laser peel. This last option is meant only for sever wrinkling and should not be
used without professional guidance.

Sensible Suntans
Every summer we all want to head for the beach and
get a nice brown suntan. But with ever more people suffering from skin
cancer every year we all need to be more careful about catching those rays.
There is, unfortunately, no such thing as a 'healthy tan'. Ultra-violet rays do nothing more than
damage our skin The tanning effect is simply the skin's response in an effort to
prevent further harm by stopping further UV rays from pentrating the the skin.
There are three main methods for obtaining a tan - at the salon, in the open sun and
by using artificial tans.
Salon Tanning
Salon tans are becoming more and more popular. They are seen as an inexpensive way to
achieve a tan. And, because of the controlled environment, it is often regarded as a
'safe' option. Unfortunately some people overstep the guidlines taking too many session,
suffering as a result.
Natural Tanning
Every summer, whether on holoday or at home, thousands of us enjoy soaking up the sun.
To avoid sunburn, it is recommended that we use at least a factor 30 sun block. If you
feel this isn't allowing enough tanning, use a lower value lotion, but be aware it will
provide less protection.
Artificial Tanning
Possibly the best option. Long gone are the days of the horrendous orange 'tan in a can'.
Modern creams and lotions are available which give a realistic tanned appearance with
protection against the sun.

Applying Skin Foundation
There are numerous varieties of skin foundation available today.
As well as having a wide selection of shades to choose from you have different
types of foundation for different types of skin. If your skin is oily (which is
generally greater for darker skin), you should use a water-based foundation.
Whereas, liquid foundation or rich cream is best for dry skin.
Applying Foundation
Lightly wet your face before applying foundation. Then apply the foundation and
mix it quickly. Finish off by brushing on some powder, going over the face
in circular strokes.
